AZ Bloggers

Marty from A Stroll Thru Life organized an AZ Bloggers luncheon at Gooseberries Tea Room. I had a great time meeting several of the ladies whose blogs I visit and find so much inspiration from. Marty did such a great job organizing this fun event, and I got to meet her personally!
There were 17 ladies (total) who showed up, and some presented us with a favor that they personally crafted. The above box was made by Ceekay from Thinkin' of Home. It's filled with yummy candy and the note says it all!
We were to bring a homemade gift or a small fall decoration for a gift exchange to remember the occasion. Well, let me tell you I did not remember reading that piece of information...and here I showed up empty handed!!! It was not a pretty moment in my life to say the least! I will not let this happen again!!! Note to self: Read and review, and list on my social calendar!!!

Marty to the rescue!!!
Like a perfect hostess that she is, she had a couple of extras to share!!! She presented me with the above seashell ball, but that's not all, she made it herself.
Thank you Marty! I will treasure this gesture for always!

What a perfect gift!
I always knew that this shelf in the guest bathroom was missing something...but no more. It is the perfect finishing touch!!!

The linen towels belonged to my mother-in-law's mother. The P stands for her mother's maiden name Provost.
My bathroom is now finished!

Happy Halloween

Pansy, my SCS Little Sister, sent me this gorgeous Frankie Halloween card. Thank you Pansy!!!
Happy Halloween to all!

Boo

A very quick card for tonight. I used Clean & Simple Stamping card sketch #60. Along with this challenge I used Ann's Creative Nook GCA#63 Black & White with a touch of orange. I used a jack-o-lantern button for the orange. I love the witch's legs! It reminds me of the movie Practical Magic! I like good witches!

Inspiration Challenge

Saturday's Inspiration Challenge 203 at SCS is from the inspiring store Anthropologie. I love their kitchen collection and was inspired by this apron: Parisian Cafe. Aprons bring memories of Grandmother...she always wore one! I wish I were in the habit of using my aprons when I'm in the kitchen preparing dinner. The only time I do is at Christmas time when I'm baking away like mad!!!
The card sketch is from Clean & Simple Stamping: FTL 65. I used foam dots to raise the poodle image, unfortunately I wasn't able to take a pic where it shows it.

Patched Up

My plan for Saturday was to catch up on several challenges and make a set of gift cards... It never happened! Finally at around 9:30 last night I had a chance to sit down and create something!!! I did SCS Ways to Use It Challenge #241 Patched Up.
I used one of the Cuttlebug Fancy Corners embossing folders for the quilt like patches. I then sanded each block to give it some dimension, and placed a pearl sticker in the middle of each block. My card is 6"x6". Luckily I have a brown envelope that fits!

Boss's Day

Our office celebrated Boss's Day this morning in our office! Tahlya was thrilled! She had a super busy morning, and I don't think she even had time to really enjoy her flowers, card and brunch. I gave our office staff the choice to pick a card to give our boss, and they chose this card. Tahlya enjoys her red wine.
I made the above card last night. I have to say I was not very imaginative or creative, since I'm casing Vivian Hunt's card from her September Stamp Class. I chose this card to give Carmen today. She's is our office coordinator. I appreciate Carmen so much...for the last 5 years she has been a mentor to me. I have learned so much from her. Carmen is not too much into girly-girl stuff...LOL!

Doors of Welcome

Autumn Doors of Welcome!
Karen at Some Some Days are Diamonds is hosting the first of three in the series of Doors of Welcome. Thanks Karen what a great way to meet fall!
Welcome Fall!
A welcome home pumpkin patch plaque given to me by my friend Bev Parcels several years ago.
I stopped by Home Depot right after work today to pick up some mums for our planters. I was a little disappointed to find out they didn't have any blooming mums. They're in the cusp to bloom any day now...
Pumpkin and gourds...
I'm glad I didn't take a closeup pic of this fall wreath, because it is a little weathered...our sun here beats the color out of it fast!
Our weekend coffee sipping and catching up spot...
These is what my neighbors see...
It was a high 95+ degrees when I got home...the beginning of the sunset...

Cockadoodledoo

Have I mentioned before that I'm a HUGE Rooster fan?! Imagine my delight running into this most adorable store in Bryn Mawr, a neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN - Cockadoodledoo!
The shop specializes in antiques, body, garden & home, but they had tons of unique roosters! I can't wait to go back and really browse and shop sans DH...heehee!
Read the following from Minneapolis Picks -
Rise & Shine...
...Cockadoodledoo adds pizzazz to the quaint Bryn Mawr neighborhood through a pastiche of garden and home goods like whimsical wooden carved figurines, antique furniture, embroidered linens and a carefully edited collection of vintage watches, wall decor and children’s books. While our inner-child begged for the handmade dollhouse, we happily settled for the shop’s rather iconic pillow boasting a stitched image of a rooster—perfect for concealing that crater in the couch.
If you love a good yard sale, you’ll enjoy rummaging through the eclectic mix of retro knick-knacks, contemporary accessories and country furnishings… until the cows come home!

Hostas

I have always love hostas! They're so easy to grow and need little tending.
Well, now I can grow them to my heart's content! My husband has inherited his parent's home in Minnesota. I love gardening and have big plans on growing different kinds of plants and flowers, like hydrangeas, peonies, dahlias, ferns ...with ease!
Thanks to our new MN neighbors Tom & Kate, now we have hostas! Kate was thoughtful enough to give me a bunch of hostas, which I planted along the driveway.
I can't wait to see them next spring!!!
