Always

I made this card just for fun! I went through my box of scraps and couldn't resist using the designer paper...it makes me feel happy! I embossed the pink and green card stock with my Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder. I added small paper flowers and tiny buttons along with pink ribbon...it's a very girlie girl kinda card. This card will be going to Cards for St. Jude.

Sketch Challenge

I came across a new stamping blog called Everything But the Kitchen Sink or EBKS. Their challenges are based on things around the house. Well, this week's challenge EBKS#3 comes from Lynette, Team Designer. Her sketch is based on her TV stand! From now on I'll see my furniture with new eyes!
For this card I didn't stamp at all. The designer paper and round tag comes from a scrapbooking packet kit. One thing that I normally try to avoid is not to use these kind of brads. I can never punch them right even with my very nice brad tool...if you look closely you'll see the paint on the brads peeling off...argh!!!
When I don't stamp on a card I feel like I'm cheating...LOL!

Inspiration Challenge

This week's Splitcoasters' Inspiration Challenge, IC215, comes from Nell Hill's, an online store that specializes in home decor. They have so many beautiful home accents that it was hard to focus on one sole item. I drew my inspiration from these framed floral prints.
This was the first time I used my leaf stamp from Stampin' Up! Nature's Wonder set. I scored the white background with my Scor-Pal.
At first I wasn't going to add a sentiment, but at this time of year A Get Well card always comes in handy!

Follow A Recipe

Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 86: Recipe
A recipe doesn't just refer to cooking, but to stamping as well. When a stamping challenge calls for a recipe, it means a list of supplies or ingredients must be use to create a card.
In this challenge the following items/supplies have to be used: 3 pieces of designer paper, 1 piece ribbon, 3 flowers and 3 buttons.
Following these type of recipes is a lot faster to clean up than being in the kitchen!
Stamps: SU! Too Terrific Tags Paper: designer paper Ink: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Perfect Plum Other: ribbon, brad, buttons, 3 punched flowers

Heart to Heart

I am having fun stamping and catching up with some great challenges...love 3-day weekends 'cause it gives me more time to do what I love - STAMP!
Besides stamping it gave me the chance to organize my craft room as well...it feels good having everything in place and handy!
Clean & Simple Stamping is back with challenges for the new year. Their first challenge of the year is a sketch, FTL#74.

Wishing You Love

I had fun making this card.
I love the look of the embossed argyle background and the color combo. For the sketch I did Our Creative Corner sketch challenge SASSC48. The stamp image is from Stampin' Up! For A Friend set. After I finished the card I realised I needed a tag (part of the sketch)...solution: sticker! The heart is actually a baby pin embellishment. I cut out the pin part and saved the heart. I didn't want to color in the word Love, so I added a little pink sorbet sparkle to the heart.
This card will be going to Cards for St. Jude.

Thank you Kristi

Kristi decided to clean out her craft room, and she was thoughtful enough to give me all of her great stuff!!! I couldn't wait to get home and go through the treasure trove of goodies!!! Lots of unopened cardstock and scrapbooking paper packages...4 ribbon storage boxes, punches, and so much more!!! I thought Christmas was over...
Thank you Kristi for thinking of me.

Happy Birthday Eileen

I made this card for Eileen, one of my co-workers. I always wanted to make a black & white card, and this was the perfect opportunity, since Eileen loves to wear black & white! Rarely does she wear anything with some color, and when she does, we notice right away!

Iused this week's Splitcoasters sketch challenge SC263 & Ways to Use it WT253. The challenge for Ways to Use It is to have a bird or birds in your creation. As I was going through my birthday stamp sets I found Love Ya Bunches by Stampin' Up!
Perfect! I'm pretty sure Eileen will love her birthday card!

Kindness

For today's Inspirational Card Sketches challenge, ICS49, I used my newly acquired stamp set called Vintage Vogue by Stampin' Up! Hopefully I won't bore you...since you might get to see more creations with this same stamp set...
Along with this sketch challenge I used Splitcoasters Tuesday's color challenge, CC253 Pretty Chocolate Razzleberries. The following colors must be used in the card:
Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Razzleberry & a neutral color.
Ooops! I just noticed the pink rhinestones are a little askew!!!

Vintage Friends

One of my goals for this year is to work on vintage cards. I love the look, but can't seem to grasp it yet on a card.
I used Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue stamp set to create this card. I stamped the background with Old Olive and Perfect Plum ink. I then sprayed the cardstock with water and wadded up the paper; then I smoothed it out and let it dry. This technique gives the paper an aged look.

I cut out the flowers and the letter F. I used foam dots to raise the letter and give it a 3D look. The big flower is mounted onto the paper with a big glue dot; for the smaller flowers and leaves I used small glue dots.

XOXOX

It's funny how you start something, but end up with something totally different! Well, this is the case here.
I envisioned a white on white wedding card for a friend who got married over the Holidays, but ended up with a Valentine's card...I guess it's close enough, but I still have to create a wedding card for George & Maggie before they celebrate their first wedding anniversary!

I received a gift card to Joann's for my birthday, which I use to get a Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder for the background of card and white front strip. I went through my scrap box for red cardstock and designer paper bits, which I punched using my scallop edge punch. For the heart I sprinkled dazzling diamond glitter, and I stamped the sentiment with white craft ink.

I will be making several Valentine cards for the next couple of weeks, so you'll get to see many! I'm participating in Winter's Wonderland cards for St. Jude's.

St. Jude's is an amazing and wonderful foundation.

Tablescape Thursday

Happy New Year!
I'm having so much fun playing along with Susan's Tablescape Thursdays at Between Naps on the Porch! This is my tablescape for our New Year's Eve dinner. Hubby & I don't normally go out for New Year's Eve...boring but safe...LOL!
I set a "less is more" tablescape! I think that's going to be my 2010 motto!
Be sure to visit Susan of "Between Naps On The Porch" to view beautiful tablescapes by so many talented bloggers!

White & Blue...crisp & clean...

The linen tablecloth & linen napkins belonged to my mother-in-law...

A table for two...

For my centerpiece I used some of my pomander balls from Pier Imports...

And a little lighting to set the mood!
Thank you for stopping by!

Swap Card Front

This is my final swap card front!!!
I used bleach to stamp the Medallion stamp onto Dusty Durango cardstock. I've never done this technique, and I like it! I also distressed the edges of the cardstock to give it an old age look.
I will be attending as a guest at an all day Stampin' Up! Leadership Convention 2010, in Phoenix on January 9th, invited by Karen, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
One of the fun things the demonstrators get to do at these events is swap or exchange card fronts. A card front is only the front of a card.
I have made 3 different card fronts (a total of 30 each), and hopefully I'll come home with 90 different card fronts!!! When you swap at these events, all materials/supplies for card fronts must be Stampin' Up (SU!)! and current (stamp sets currently available in their latest catalog).
I have to label the back of each card with the recipe (list of all supplies/materials used to make card).
For example:
Stamps: Medallion, Sense of Time Cardstock: Dusty Durango, Bermuda Bay Ink: Tempting Turquoise Other: Bleach, Stickles Technique: Bleach Stamping, Distressing
