Set of Thank You Cards

I needed to make a set of quick thank you cards for my co-workers. For Administrative Assistant's Day, my Department presented me with flowers and a fish (Betta) now appropriately named "Bubba". I was really moved. Bubba adds a tranquil environment to my very hectic work area!!!
I heat embossed the stamped image with White Embossing Powder onto Bermuda Bay card stock. The stamp is from Stampin' Up's! set Very Thankful.

I also punched the edge using my newly acquired Eyelet Border punch.
I've been adding a white piece of writing paper inside my cards for messages. I love how the white peeks from under the eyelet border...

Crotchet and Crimped Flower Rosette

CAS: Clean & Simple Cards

Last year it seemed that crotchet flowers were all the raged, and I never got a chance to make one.
As I was getting ready to go back to my knitting, I noticed this tiny crotchet flower at the bottom of my yarn basket. I abandoned all thought of knitting and made this card instead.

And I also made this card using a crimped flower rosette following Dawn Olchefske's tutorial.
Talk about a small world! Dawn and I were at the same Stampin' Up Regional in Phoenix, where one of the ladies demonstrated how she created this rosette.

I embossed the edges of the rosette with Barely Banana to give it a vintage look.

Stamps: SU! Small Script & Vintage Vogue
Paper: SU! Barely Banana & White card stock, designer paper
Ink: Barely Banana, Rose Red
Accessories: scallop punch, handmade crotchet flower by yours truly, buttons, paper crimper

Hostess Card Set

CAS: Clean And Simple cards

Today I made this hostess thank you set of cards (2 each) for Lea. Lea hosted this month's Red Hat event at her house with a luncheon. It was and still is a gorgeous day to be outdoors. The company was great, we enjoyed a delicious potluck luncheon, and we played Mexican Train (domino game)...first time player here!

I packaged the cards and used one of my scraplings for a gift tag.

paper: white card stock

ink: Mint Meloday, Cameo Coral, Cool Caribbean, Almost Amethyst

accessories: paper flower, tiny buttons, scallop punch, ScorPal

Vintage Sympathy

I made this card for our co-worker, Carolyn. On Tuesday morning her son Donny lost his battle with cancer.
What the heart has once owned
and had, it shall never lose.
-Henry Ward Beecher
The card measures 8.5" x 5.5"...my first in this size. Unfortunately, I did not think of taking pictures of the inside of the card...I added extra pages for writing.
I was inspired to create this card by using the colors of the ribbon.

stamp set: SU! Vintage Vogue
card stock: Chocolate Chip, Confetti White, Buckaroo Blue
ink: Buckaroo Blue
accessories: small half pearls from SU!'s Pretties Kit, corner punch, Martha Stewart ribbon-Calico Cloud-Walnut

Happy Birthday

I finally got a chance to make a card. I was so excited in making this card because I wanted to practice how to make the flower. I learned to make a flower using a different technique using 4 distressed scallop circles. It was fun making it!!!
And voila...the final product!
