Easter Banner II

Lately, I have been in love with banners and finally had a chance to make another one.
I'm trying to stay one step ahead of holidays around here, and not only that, bring some spring into our home!
I love how it turned out!
I rummaged through all of my stash and found these cute lace daisies!
Needless to say that the minute my sister saw this banner, she wanted it!  It's hers!
Now I am working on one for myself!

Pink Saturday

Our weather here has been absolutely perfect!  I am not bragging, but we enjoy it as much as we can because we all know what is coming very soon: HOT...and I mean HOT HOT SUMMER!

This very nice weather makes it perfect for estate/garage sale hunting!
The 3 pink glass dishes were a perfect find for Valentine sweets!

This square tablecloth had an ugly stain, but I cam home and washed it off!
At another sale, I found this adorable tablecloth that had never been used.  It still had its original tag on!
It is citrus season here.  The oranges are from Mom's orange tree and they're so sweet and juicy.  The grapefruit make excellent Vodka Greyhounds!
 Sweet design!
And this dishcloth also had its very own store tag.
It was a perfect find to display in our kitchen for the month of February!

A Passion for Baskets

I have a passion for really good crafted baskets and good deals!!!
I was invited to attend a Longaberger Open House last Saturday, and I'm so glad I made it!!!
This is one of the beautiful baskets I came home with.  It's a retired basket with leather handles, plastic insert and lining with pockets.  It is a perfect basket to hold my current crochet or knitting project, needles, book, etc...
I can't wait to attend my next knitting group to show it off!

Every opportunity I get, I make sure I get a nice basket to replace one of my cheapy baskets.  I make sure that each basket has a job to do, whether  it's holding coffee filters, mail, yarn, art supplies, in the pantry...

My current crochet project is a rectangular granny square afghan.  I'm hoping to be done with it before this coming Friday.

Fresh Cuts from Our Garden

As I was getting ready to have my coffee this morning, I decided to take a quick peek at our rose bushes.  I found only two blooming roses and one rosebud.
I cut the two Eternelle roses and made myself a little rose bouquet for our breakfast table.
For someone who is now retired, I hardly take the time to sit down and enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the mornings and take some time to reflect.
Today being such a gorgeous sunny warm day, decided to take the time and enjoy the morning quiet.
 It really felt so good!
I added a sprig of rosemary, asparagus fern, snapdragon, and a fading paper white and a tiny daisy flower.

Valentine Par-tay

I added a few touches of pink to our bedroom to welcome February.
I found this tiny porcelain shoe at a garage sale and liked it right away.  It looks great next to my little glass jewelry pot that holds my pinkish pearl strand and earrings.
As I was organizing my craft closet, I came across the gorgeous pink dress tag I received from a tag swap.  I think it looks perfect on my dresser.

These two oval embroidered flower frames belonged to my late mother-in-law.  My father-in-law gave them to me.  I always wonder if her mother or who in her family made them.  I'll never find out; both are gone now.
The glass are missing from both frames and I always forget to replace it.

On my side of the bed, I put together a night stand using my mother-in-law's suitcase, which I place on top of a suitcase rack.

I received this very pretty cross-stitched dresser scarf from my Aunt.  She made it herself, and she also crochet the edging.  I don't know what type of flower it is.  It looks to me like a hibiscus.  She does very delicate work.

Here's Oliver taking a mid-morning nap on my very favorite pink quilt over our bed that my Mom gave to me several years ago.  I love how soft and cozy it has become over the years.
I apologize for this picture.  I took it with my phone, but I almost forgot this pretty pinkish wreath I've had for many years.  The little rosebuds are made from silk and it's so dainty.

Well, I think this is enough pink for our bedroom, or else Hubby will not sleep in our bedroom...too girly..LOL!

Recycled Valentine Cards

While organizing my craft room, I came across several Valentine cards I received from dear friends.  I hate to throw them away, and decided to recycled them and turned them into a Valentine garland.
I sorted through them all and grouped them in sets of similar style.
I chose to display my Valentine garland in our living room.

I like the way it turned out, and this way I can use year after year.

LOVE Banner

All you need is L O V E...
I made this little banner several years ago and only displayed it once.  I put it away and forgot all about it, until today.
I thought it would be great to hang it above my computer displaying my younger brother's picture with his two adorable boys!

Please forgive me for the blurry pictures.  I need new glasses and don't see my doctor until about a month from now.

Pink Saturday

Welcome February

It was a busy week for me.  I continued to clean out the garage, and have 4 bins full of stuff to donate to Goodwill; which will be picked up this coming Tuesday.  Once all is picked up, I will feel accomplished!

I was surprised to find things I had completely forgotten about.  One particular thing I had missed and had no idea what I did with, was a box full of vintage linens, and was really super happy to have found!

Besides organizing and cleaning, I started to add touches of pink throughout our home to welcome February.
While cleaning my china cabinets, I came across this pretty little candy dish.  I love the delicate pink roses and it feels so feminine.

I also found this rose floral arrangement in one of the stored bins.  It was a floral arrangement from my brother's and his wife's wedding reception.  I spruced it up a bit and added the pink glass beads inside the bowl.
Awww...sleeping beauty, Phoebe, taking a morning nap amongst some pinkish stuffed pillows!

Now for my next organization/cleaning project for the upcoming week is to sort my craft closet...it's a mess!!!
