January Hexies and Pocket Letter Swaps

I am so behind in posting and sharing some of the swaps I have received in the last two weeks!

I received these very pretty hexie flowers from Vicki all the way from Australia!  I love polka dots, blue and daisies!!!

I also received this pretty Using Your Goodies Pocket Letter from Tammi.
Here is the one I sent her.

Tammi was so generous with me in sending me even more goodies!

Golf Update: Friday morning I had a bunker shot lesson.  The very handsome instructor made it look so easy...but it's not!  I need lots of practice and I also need to learn all of the names of the clubs and their uses!  Oh Boy...I just hope the Ladies don't kick me out of their group...LOL!

Mom's Health Update: Thank you God mom is very healthy.  She simply needs to realize that she's getting older, and with age her body is not the same as a 30 something!   So far no more doctor appointments until next month!

Church Women's Group:  Loving it!!!  Last Wednesday our group had an awards ceremony where $5,000 was given to 5 well deserved organizations/groups: Ryan's House, Pets for Veterans, St. Matthew's Catholic School (located in a really bad part of town), and two others.  These groups are totally funded by donations and local support.
My favorite organization is the Pets for Veterans.  It was funded by a local Veterinarian.
Basically pets are rescued from shelters/euthanasia and trained to be partnered with a Veteran who suffers from PTSD.  These pets can be of assistance to their owners for emotional support or for handicap assistance.
When I found out how much each group received, it may me realized how hard these group of Ladies work and also how generous (monetary wise) others are who can't attend the meetings.  God Bless Them.

Have a wonderful day!

Today is the start of another gorgeous beautiful day here for us in AZ!  A high of 75 degrees is the forecast for today Friday!

I had not made tags in a long time, and it reminded me how much fun they are to make!  I made the following 3 tags for a swap.  We could create any theme for our tags.
I wanted to make mine shabby for my swap partner Andrea in England.  I used Graphic 45 Botanical Tea Collection designer paper for all 3 tags.
I went through my collection of ephemera to add decorative touches to each tag.
It also gave me a chance to use my stamps on the tags.
I gathered all of the ephemera first (stickers, lace, ribbon, flowers, chipboard, stick pins, etc...) to embellished the tags.  I'm amazed at the end result of the tags as to how all of the supplies go so well together.

Today I start a new adventure!
I have joined a Ladies 9-Hole golf group.
I have never ever played out in the course...hehehe!!!!  The Ladies tell me not to worry!  These Ladies are so nice!  We meet every Tuesday at 1:00 pm to play; but today I'm going to the Club for a lesson...my first!  So excited!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Friday night I worked on some upcoming swap projects while catching up on my favorite Soap Opera: The Young & The Restless

For this card swap I was to create 3 Vertical Blind cards...any theme for each person in my group.  Luckily we were a small group of four.
This is my favorite of the 3.  I just love the Designer Paper background!

The Designer Paper for this card is also so pretty and shimmery.
I wasn't too creative in making each swap partner a totally different card.  I just hope it's not a big deal.

Saturday's Bunco Night was a blast!  I did win though...$1.50 for the most losses!
About half of the group are originally from Wisconsin and BIG Packers' fans!  While playing Bunco we were also watching the game: Cardinals vs Packers.  Every time the Packers scored...OMG...did it get loud...and when the Cardinals scored & won the game it got even louder!  I wonder what our neighbors think of us now!!!  These ladies don't need any alcohol to have a good time!!!  I told you we are a bunch of wild and crazy Ladies!!!!

Sunday I stayed in my pj's all day long and recouped!  I'm realizing that I can't party like a Rock Star anymore!!!

Using Your Goodies Pocket Letter

It's another gorgeous sunny Saturday!

I created this Pocket Letter for a swap.  The challenge was to use "goodies" you have received from previous PL swaps.
It's amazing how quickly you start collecting gift/goodies included in swaps.  Some are so hard to part away from, but I had to sacrifice them for the making of this PL.  I don't know what style this PL turned out to be, but I think it's sort of shabby vintage...
This is the back of the PL filled with more goodies for my swap partner.  I'm sure she'll put them to good use!

Today I have a super busy day!
It's my turn to host Bunco tonight, and sadly to say I have not had a chance to prepare the main dish (lazagna) or tidy up the house or even gone to the store to pick up what I need for tonight's get-together...so off I go and get myself ready for the day...!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

A Birdie Told Me

You mean everything to me.
{EVERYTHING}
This week I made time to work in my craft room and made this bird card (1 of 5) for a swap.  We were to make our cards out of a color that we have difficulty with or have an abundance of that cardstock.  Well I have lots of my favorite 2 colors: black and turquoise.
In return, I will receive 5 different cards from other participating swap partners.

The New Year started out so well!  I have kept myself very busy and productive.

So far this year I played Bingo at Church for the very first time and had a great time.  I'm sure I had Bingo, but being a first timer I probably didn't know I did.  I had a great time though!

Mom and I went to a local casino with our Church group.  It was my mom's first time ever at a casino.  As beautiful as this casino was, I'm still not a fan of casinos.  Too much cigarette smoke and came home with a horrible migraine.

In our Women's Guild Sewing Group we started working on lap quilts to be donated to our veterans.  I finished making one this past Wednesday...and a couple more to go!

This Saturday I'm hosting Bunco...we're a group of 12 fun and raucous Ladies!!!
So today I will spend most of my day getting our home ready and preparing a huge pan of Lasagna for tomorrow's fun evening!

And today I meet my BFF for lunch!  She's still working and we haven't had a chance to see each other since before Christmas!  We have lots of catching up to do!!!
