My Framed Pincushion

Here's my framed pincushion I made for my swap partner Margaret, including some of the embellished stickpins (top right).
Couple of years ago I found these really cute picture frames at Michaels (I think they were a $1 each); but never did anything with them until now.
I also made this tag for Margaret, which is attached to a baggie filled with orange slices (candy).
Here are some of the other surprised gifts I added for Margaret.
...and of course I had to add one of my cards for her.

Ever since I made this pincushion, I have been working on others as well!
 Middle pincushion is from Margaret.
I'm even working on some teacup pincushions as well.  The teacup one I'm still working on it...I didn't like how it turned out.  Next time you see it, it will be totally different.  The little brass one I have given to my mom.
I think these pincushions are great to place next to your sewing machine, or on a dresser to place your stickpins in a pinch!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Framed Pincushion Swap

I participated in an altered small Frame Pincushion Swap and embellished stickpins last month.  I received this beautiful handmade pincushion by Margaret.
Margaret created this gorgeous framed pincushion for me.  I love the fabric she used.  The frame had to be no smaller than 4" x 4".
Along with the framed pincushion, 3 embellished/altered (or more in this case) were to be included.  Margaret was too creative and generous and included 5 beautiful stickpins.
Here you can see the finished back of the pincushion.  Margaret does beautiful well crafted altered art.
Margaret included so many precious goodies for me to use!
I just love opening pretty precious packages!  Thank you Margaret!
Tomorrow I'll post what I sent Margaret.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Easter Chick Card & Pocket Letter

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Day!

For the last two weeks, I have made the time to work in my craftroom and finish up some swaps and make a couple of cards as well.
At the beginning of last week, I realized I had not made Easter cards to mail out to family and dear friends...so of course, at the last minute I made about 10 and tried to get to the Post Office as soon as I could.  I have a feeling that these cards did not get to their destination on time.  I tried!!!
Here is the Easter Chick card I made for this year's Easter using Stampin' Up's A Good Egg stamp set.  I've had this set for a couple of years, and finally used it!!!  I think the little baby chick is so cute!
Just a sneak peek at the inside of the card...

First let me apologize for the very blurry picture :-(
I made this Easter Pocket Letter for Tammi (my PL swap partner); which she has now received.
The fun part of creating this PL was that I was able to use bits and pieces of past year's Easters.
This is the back of the PL filled with goodies for Tammi.  Hopefully, she'll be able to use them in one of her future PLs.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Lucky Day

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Last Saturday, our Church had a Rummage Sale and I found this small dish with this fabulous quote for a dollar!

I received this very green St. Patrick's Day Pocket Letter from Tammi.
She included this rubber bracelet (which I'm wearing today).  I think it should say "I'm not Irish, but Kiss Me anyways" in my case.

Tammi included lots of green goodies for me to play with.  Thank you Tammi!

Last but not least, a shamrock banner given to me by my friend Arleen to bring me some luck!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Polka Dots and Flowers

Today is the beginning of a brand new day and week!!!
This time of year here in the Desert is beautiful!  Everything is blooming and lots of pollen is flying around to make some of us simply miserable.  For the last couple of weeks I have been suffering from hay fever, and I have been feeling so sick; but today I feel so much better.  I'm spending my day in my craft room and having fun!

I made this polka dot card for a swap, and I'm so happy how it turned out.  I just love polka dots!  Polka dots make me happy!

Diva Card

One of my favorite Stampin' Up stamp sets is Haute Couture!
This stamp image is very simple but elegant.  This image always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
I simply added a ribbon to the hat and a very blingy earring.

I made this card for Ti.  She and I participated in a card swap challenge called Diva Birthday.
Ti made this beautiful card for me!

B is for Birthdays

March is a very busy "birthday month" in our family!
I can't keep up!!!
I made a simple birthday card that would be perfect for children through adults, but still special for each recipient.
Unfortunately a few birthday girls/boys will be receiving a belated card...I ran out of balloon buttons!!!
I made a gate-fold card, and the balloon button allows the B~flap to tuck under it securely.  Instead of stamping the letter "B", I used a puffy glittery letter sticker and tied some colorful ribbon to it.  I really enjoy making this very simple card.
Stop by Stephanie's The Enchanting Rose to sign up for this wonderful swap!!!
