It's Like Tiffany's

Flickr Monthly Themed ATC Swap ~ June 2012
One of my all time books and movie is Breakfast at Tiffany's...and of course Tiffany's!  I love the character Holly Golightly.  Always in search of some ideal of happiness.

I made this ATC for Teresita and is going all the way to Thailand!

Fancy Hat Lady

I just fell in love with this cat picture!  Is the Kitty pampered or what!
The object of this ATC was to focus/create a fancy hat lady, but I believe the Kitty photo bombed it!

I placed a super blingy hat on the lady's hat and of course, every hat must have a fancy hat pin.  After much thought, I decided that my ATC was done and did not need any other embellishments.

I hope Janet likes it as much as I do.

Fresh Cut Friday

These are just a handful of flowers from our summer flower garden here in Minnesota.

Next year when I get here at the beginning of May, hopefully our flower garden will be much better and with more of a variety.  Right now the garden is calling my name to go clean it and weed it...but it's too warm and humid!!!

I put together a small colorful flower arrangement and placed it first on this table .

I love the bright colors...cheerful!

Then I moved the flowers to this table, but it was too small...

I think this table needs a bigger floral arrangement...

I find it amazing how a small touch of flowers brings life to a room.

Our Furry Friends

Our Furry Friends ATC Swap
ATC for Wendy

Growing up we never had cats at home.  We always had dogs.  At one time I believe we had up to 4 dogs at once and I love them all!  When I got married, Hubby had 2 cats and then we had 4!  I was extremely allergic to them, but eventually (with medicine) they became mine as well and we have lived happily ever after.
So this ATC is based on my friendship and love for Kittie Kats!

Table Top Tuesday

I am spending a couple of weeks in Minnesota at our summer home.  Next summer I will be here all summer long and will be able to really spruce up this place!
I want to share some of Hubby's family heirlooms that came with this home (it's his childhood home).
My in-laws had a collection of inherited pieces of furniture and other "treasures", which I love and appreciate.
This is a hutch that my father-in-law put together for my mother-in-law.

The shelf with the teacups and teapot is as she left it, but I added her collection of creamers.  The teapot belong to Hubby's paternal Swedish grandparents, and the teacups and saucers are from one of my mother-in-law's china sets from when she got married.  The set is called Spode Copeland Great Britain Constable.  On the bottom shelf I placed some family silver and pewter, along with some milk glass.

I love those red crystal champagne and goblet glasses!  On the shelf with the blue plate I placed some glass and crystal collection.

Here's two pictures of my mother-in-law Caroline.  The picture on the right: she's in the middle, with her two younger sisters, and I simply love the portrait of her on the left.  I believe it was taken for her wedding announcement.

Please stop by Marty's Table Top Tuesday and visit her and others' creative tabletops.

Red, White & Blue Tag

I love how this tag turned out to be and it expresses the way I feel about our country!

I made this tag for Fran, and I hope she likes it.  Fran creates beautiful unique Americana Artwork.  She and I participated in Tee's The Altered Paper Tag A Month Swap.

This is the first time I have used fabric for an art project.  I had planned on stitching it to the tag base, but my sewing machine needs fixing.  I had the fabric for the longest time and I'm so happy I had saved it.  I just can't remember why I had bought it in the first place...

Happy 4th of July!

Idle Hands...NOT

I can't just sit and watch TV without having something to do.  So while watching TV a couple of weeks ago, I made these set of quick note cards.  One night I cut the 3" x 3" cards and folded them.  Another evening I scored the lines going across the front of the card, and I left the stamping of the image for another evening.

These cards come in handy for any occasion.

Now that I'm done with these, what should I work on while watching TV...?
