Flower Delivery

For Valentine's Day is now a tradition that Dear Hubby sends me flowers to work. I love it!
But how lucky can a girl get by getting two floral deliveries?
ProFlowers made the mistake of delivering the above flowers to me. When I received them I thought it was a little odd they were not roses, but figured how lucky to get flowers at all. So when I got home with my huge bouquet Hubby said, "I didn't sent you those!" I was a little puzzled because the card said they were from him. So he explained to me that he had ordered 3 dozen roses!

Needless to say he got on the phone to ProFlowers and let them know they had made a huge mistake!

So...these were delivered to me!
I had flowers at home and at the office...I do believe some of the ladies were a little jealous... :-)

I brought my roses home at the end of the week.

I combined the last of the living flowers to make a new bouquet!
Deep inside of me I was hoping that another delivery mistake would have been made, but NO...!
I would have requested tulips this time!
Thank you always you have made me feel very special!

Tablescape Thursday

After a long absence of participating in Susan's Naps Between on the Porch Tablescape Thursday, here's my tablescape that I set for January's Bunco get together at my house.

I was saving this set of dishes for Mother's Day brunch at my house, but couldn't wait to use them. I recently acquired them from an estate sale in my neighborhood.
It's called Peach Blossom Bolero china set by W.S. George.

I find it so very feminine and fragile...

It's a 5-piece setting for 6.

I used the glass sugar & creamer for salad dressings...

The bread basket is from Longaberger. I've been collecting their baskets for a while. I have some prized baskets, and some day I will visit their store.
I served homemade Beef Stroganoff and salad.

The ladies were able to serve their own beverage...

I set the buffet hutch with the cups & saucers, teaspoons, dessert plates, sugar & creamer. After we are done playing Bunco, we have coffee and dessert.

I served a Bavarian pastry and butter cookies.

While we play Bunco, we have chocolates, peanuts, ...
The night I hosted Bunco it was pouring rain! I'm so happy the ladies showed up and we had a great time! I get to host Bunco in July...can't wait!
Make sure and stop by Susan's and visit all of the amazing bloggers tablescapes.

Orange Crush

Have you ever tried to create a card using the color orange? It's a wonderful color for Halloween, but it's hard to use any other way as I discovered! Well for this week's SCS Ways to Use It challenge, WT258, was to find ways in using orange. I combined this challenge by using Clean & Simple sketch, FTL79.

I used SU! Tart & Tangy's orange stamp. As of right now in our Valley it's citrus season...our trees our loaded with oranges, lemons, grapefruit, therefore I was inspired to use orange.
I had a set of Martha Stewart's ribbon (with adhesive) that I had been wanting to use for the longest time, and this happened to be the perfect time. One thing I've never done before was to stamp on ribbon. I used StazOn Jet Black ink.

I love how the light comes through the pierced edges of the card.

Wishing for Spring

I made this card for Monday's Splitcoaststampers's challenge, CAS54, Wishing for Spring, and combined it with Clean & Simple's FTL 78 sketch. Believe it or not I started this card last Monday, but didn't get to finish it until this morning. I thought I had finally recovered from this nasty allergy and drainage...but no...!!!
My northern friends are dying for winter to end...I on the other hand...I am not...just knowing what's coming our way - - hot hot summer weather! I'm trying to enjoy every second of our so called winter! LOL!

Butterflies remind me of spring. I color the stamped image with watercolor pencils. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder border for the edge of the card. I sanded the embossed flowers to make the embossed flowers show.

I made this card thinking of my friend Kristi! I owe her a huge thank you! She cleaned out her craft room and gave me a ton of paper and stamping supplies....way too generous...and I'm so honored and thankful that she thought of me to share with!!!

I used this card as my inspiration to make Kristi's card.

I'm having fun using my Big Shot, and today I used the flower layers diecut from Sissix. Once again I went through my scrapbox and used bits of paper to create the flower. The designer paper is from a Leeza Gibbon's scrapbook kit I bought a while back at Big Lots.

The sentiment comes from my new SU! Whimsical Words stamp set.

I layered the flower and "scrunched" it!!! I wonder if I just created a new technique word? LOL!

Big Shot

I finally broke down and bought Stampin' Up's! Big Shot!
I'm so happy...oh! many possibilities to craft even more! Today I used it to make the flower on this card by using Sissix's Flower Layers #3 die cut. I was inspired to make this flower after today's SplitCoastStampers' Featured Stamper HamiltonGal's, FS158, card. I ran the cut flowers through the crimper several times (breaks the fibers in paper) and it's easier for the flower to become 3D.

I used SU!'s Pinking Hearts border punch, black, white & mambo melon cardstock. The polka dot designer paper is from my scrapbox leftover from a previous card/craft. The hot pink button comes from my overflowing button jar!

Happy Valentine's Day

Wishing you lots of LOVE!

Hi! I haven't gone anywhere, but haven't had time to blog and visit lately! I'm hoping that by the end of this week, I'll have my life back!
The picture above is from our Amaryllis from this year! Sad to no more!
