Oliver Health Update

Here's our gorgeous handsome Oliver!
We have finally gotten into a routine with his daily insulin shots.  I think he's looking and feeling so much better.  He'll being seeing the Vet this week to check on his health progress!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
We did and it was a very restful weekend.  We have not yet started decorating for Christmas, but we're hoping that by the end of this week our home will be all set for the holidays.

Cleaning Up

Lately I have been on a "finishing up projects" that I began, but was almost done and never completed...hehehe!!!
PhDs (projects half done) or WIPs (works in progress) whether they're half done knitted sweaters, half done crochet afghans, half done hand sewn quilts, Christmas cards, scrapbooks, pocket letters... all tucked away in boxes, bags, or baskets...
one by one are coming out to be finally finished!
Why so many unfinished projects?
I ran out of yarn, paper, ribbon, thread, fabric, time, motivation...
Or I just simply moved on to another new more exciting project to make!
I'll be honest, but it is hard to sit down and re-start an old project; but once I make up my mind, I simply do it!!!
I get a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment after each completed project!

Have a wonderful weekend!

It has sure been a while since I've had a chance to sit down, drink my coffee at leisure and visit my own blog!  We've had a very interesting and very active month back in Arizona to say the least!  To keep my sanity intact, I had a chance to work in my craft room and worked on one project, while everything else around me/us is CHAOS!

Besides trying to keep up with swaps, Pocket Letters and not being able to meet some deadlines, Church activities, Bunco, Mom's Chauffeur, vet appointments for all four of our pets, learning to give Oliver his insulin shots twice a day, my own medical appointments, and going to bed with a huge painful migraine...I did managed to spend yesterday afternoon in my craft room and work on a little Christmas project !!!

I made a Christmas card holder out of a big binder clip.  It can also be used as a photo holder or place card holder.
It was very easy to make and the best part was that I used those little paper scraps, bits & pieces, odds & ends I've saved just in case I needed them some day.
I'm thinking it would make a cute little stocking stuffer or gift to tuck away for someone special!

Here's a preview of our living room in progress...
...and it has been a project!
A little surprise under the carpet: very old linoleum tiles and tested with a small percentage of asbestos!  Old tiles removed and floor treated by experts; the tiling finally began!!!
Oh but wait!  While tiles were being laid, Leo the Tiler, found out that several of the tiles were warped....which more had to be ordered...and the saga continued of a home renovation...LOL!!!
After all the ups and downs and all tiles laid down, "the grouting" is being done...yeah!!!

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Autumn Pocket Letter for Lisa

Since fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year (especially when I get a chance to experience autumns in Minnesota) I went a little crazy and participated in another fall PL swap!
I made this Fall PL for Lisa.
It simply describes all of fall's pleasures!
I made the little FALL Banner on the top left pocket.
I love making big tags, and I added a pocket envelope filled with fall goodies for Lisa.
This is the back of the Fall PL filled with goodies!

Pumpkin Patch PL and Life So Far

Things are getting better day by day and feeling much better! :-)
  1. I had an IBS flare up due to all of the recent stress I let myself  in.  I got it under control, and feel so much better!!!
  2. Our Church's Bazaar and Bake Sale was a great success!!! I helped out at the Christmas Table for two days, and boy was I tired, but it felt so good to feel useful and have a purpose in life.
  3. I baked the most delicious heavy duty pound cake for the Church's Bake Sale!  I will share recipe and picture in another post.
  4. Mom and I attended the Peoria Community Center Halloween Bash Party and wore the cutest little witches' hatbands.
  5. The tile has been delivered and tiling of living/dining rooms is scheduled for next Wednesday, November 11th!!!  Maybe we can host Thanksgiving dinner here!
  6. Oh...and I'm so behind schedule (swaps, visiting friends' blogs, life in general ...) so today I start the first day of my life all over again!
I better post this Fall Pocket Letter before the Christmas season begins!
I made this Fall Pocket Letter for Julie.

I used the front cover page of our Community Center Fall flyer to create Julie's PL.  I cut out some clip art, sunflower picture and Fall 2015 from the same flyer.
This is the back of the Fall PL!
I included a My Fall Favorites tag checklist and a card pocket filled with more fallish goodies for Julie!
