Crochet Baby Yellow Blanket

I had some time on my hands while watching TV in the evenings, and made a crochet baby blanket in less than a week!
I had been wanting to try out the corner-to-corner (c2c) crochet pattern.  The blanket measures about 38" x 38".  I ran out of yellow yarn and did not feel like running out to get more, so I used white yarn instead for the edging.  I'm still debating if I should add a little embellishment in a corner...for example a few small crochet daisies or something.
The crochet edging is a simple one I just came up with.  The first row is done in single crochet all around.  The second and last row was 3 single crochets, and then chain 3 and single crochet in the same stitch in between 3 half double crochets.

This summer I plan on making baby blankets to donate to Warm Up America!  I'm currently working on another one in blue using a pattern called Tiramisu.

White Orchid

For Mother's Day, I gave Mom an orchid plant.
She loves flowers and all kinds of gardening.  By the way, I get that from her.

Well this little orchid flower broke off her plant and landed on my kitchen counter.  A little gift to myself I guess; and I'm so surprised it lasted so long!  It died the day after Memorial Day.  I would change the water on a daily basis, and it looked so fresh like a daisy...well in this case as an orchid!

Birthday Greeting Card Book

This is my completed altered birthday greeting card book.
Well almost done... I need to add a title to the cover page.  I did add the adorable 3-D card I received from Tiffanie.
This book is made of saved special greeting birthday cards I had been holding onto for a long time.
I used a pretty long grosgrain ribbon to tie close my thick book.
For the covers I used chipboard and covered it with colorful scrapbooking paper.
So many beautiful sweet memories being brought back of family and friends.

This is my new agenda/calendar system...LOL!
Hubby & I don't like a cluttered door fridge, but lately I'm finding out this is the best way to remember things at our age!!!  Especially when I make appointments first thing in the morning.

Summer Grilling

Let the summer fun begin in Minnesota ~even though is not officially summer~!!!
I left Arizona on a very hot day; thankfully I didn't experienced it.   Jack and I had a terrific flight and landed on a sunny MN day.
Years ago I used to participate in recipe swaps.  Each swap had a different theme.  For this one swap we were to share a grilling recipe(s).
I collected all of these recipes and put them together for Hubby and I for summer grilling!  I also added a few easy to make appetizers, cocktails and dessert recipes to go with our main meal.
This is one recipe I contributed, and it's delicious!
All recipes are 6" x 6" decorated and embellished cards.  The frame was part of a gift (handmade calendar).
