Quick Note Cards

I finally had a chance to make a set of 3" x 3" note cards using my new stampset called Mixed Bunch by Stampin' Up! and the flower punch as well.  I used Island Indigo ink for the image.  Isn't that a cool name for an ink!
I ran out of rhinestones for two of the cards so I improvised by using a silk flower, button and twine.  These note cards come in handy for a quick note or a as a little gift tucked in someone's happy mail.

Fancy Hat Lady

This fancy fun hat lady ATC was made for me by Janet.   Doesn't it remind you of  one of those amazing hats some of the ladies wear at the Kentucky Derby?  I especially love the puppy in the teacup!  It reminds me so much of our beloved Dreyfuss as a puppy.

Thank you so much Janet for this beautiful and fun ATC and for all of the extra wonderful goodies!

Our Furry Friends ATC

I received this most adorable ATC from Wendy.  We both participated in Blissful ATC Swap for the month of June and the theme was Our Furry Friends.  That puppy reminds me so much of our beloved Dreyfuss which we still miss so much.
Wendy did such a wonderful job with her ATC and it brought me wonderful times with our doggy.

Thank you so much for the generous and amazing goodies!  I will definitely put them to good use.
I especially love the very delicate lace doily.

Table Top Tuesday

I finally had a chance to redo the baker's rack in the dining room to a more summery look.
I love glass, crystal and silver and I think it gives a look of coolness!  I placed a few seashells to give it that summer look.  The silver platter belonged to Hubby's parents, and was lovingly used.  My mother-in-law's credo: "Every day is special!  So use it!"
Note to self: work on that lampshade...

Our dining room is a small in size and cannot fit our china hutch, so I opted for a baker's rack.  The table can seat up to 12, but I keep it at 4-6.

A few of my pitchers in like colors make the third shelf vignette.  I have always had a fondness for pitchers.  I think it makes serving cold drinks more graceful.
Would you like lemonade or ice cold sweet tea?

A set of baskets.  The bigger set holds wine/champagne corks for a future craft, and the smaller basket holds our blood pressure to keep it out of sight until needed!

I placed a set of oval platters on the top shelf.  As you can see, none of the shelves have a glass top.  I'm working on getting that taken care of...soon...hopefully before summer is over...

Button Swap

I participated in a button swap back in April, and finally just received my swap package from Cheryl.  Due to the postal service (whether it was the Canadian or the American postal service, we'll never know), Cheryl sent me a second set of buttons with extra goodies.
We both participated in Elysia's button swap.  We were to line up 20 various buttons, with no more then two alike, then place them in an envelope and mail them to our swap partner with a letter included.  I love Cheryl's card.  Thank you Cheryl and I hope this swapping experience doesn't deter you from participating in future swaps...

This is what I sent Cheryl, which she did received in a timely manner...phew!

Flower ATC Dress

I enjoyed so much making this ATC dressform for Ana Cristina.  I was actually inspired by one her pieces of artwork which gave me the idea of using a silk flower to create a dress.

Under the dress you can see a little peek of lace slip.
Making these type of ATC's is like playing dolls all over again.  I used to make dresses, tops and skirts for my dolls when I was a kid.  I think that's how  I learned all of my basic sewing skills.

Table Top Tuesday

I had a couple of days off from work and finally had a chance to clean out one of the garage's storage closet.  Even though it started out as a chore, it turned out to be fun.  I came across some of my collection of Americana that I love and have been stored too long.

I decided to arrange a little vignette atop of one of our very overloaded bookcases.  I found the Uncle Sam nutcracker a few year's back at Pier 1.  The saltboxes' rooftops are removable and can be used to store "treasures".

On my next break from work I'll clean another garage closet and see what I re-discover!

Summer Days

This tag makes me want to fly to the nearest beach and simply chill out!
Summer to me is spending time at the beach.  See...I live in a desert and the pool doesn't really make it during our hot summers...

I made this tag for my swap partner Jane.  I used pieces of scrapbooking embellishments and added a touch of sand and seashells.  I hope she likes it.

June's Tag A Month

Ah Summer...
What power you have
to make us suffer
and like it.

I received this gorgeous summer tag from Jane.  It's simply stunning!  I love the image and quote.  I appreciate all of the time it took Jane to stitch every thing in place.

Jane not only made my tag so special, but take a peek at her packaging.  She made it extra special!

Jane thank you so much for my beautiful tag and all of the extra goodies!

Flowers from Leanne

I received the most beautiful box filled with gorgeous handmade flowers from Leanne.  She decorated this beautiful box.

These are just so beautiful!

I can't decide which is my most favorite.   Leanne added so many extra little gifts.

The quill flowers and butterfly are just so delicate and darling.

Leanne included this precious card with more flowers.
I hope I don't disappoint her with my flowers.

Thank you Leanne for making this swap a special one.

Leanne and I participated in Elysia's  flower swap.

Basketful of Scraps

What to do when you have a huge basketful of scraps besides thinking of using its contents for a huge bonfire?

They are made of tiny leftover scraps of card stock that measure approximately 4 1/4" x 1 1/4" and can be embellish as you like: simple or extra fancy. They can be used as bookmarks, tags or in my case as a quick note card.

Quick 3x3 Notecards

It has been awhile since I last did any kind of card stamping!  So off to my craft room and took out some dusty ink pads, punches, stamp sets, and my huge basketful of scrap paper!
I noticed that when I take a sabbatical from stamping I become rusty!  And by rusty I mean that it takes me longer in coming up with an idea/concept!  My poor little brain!!!

I had been meaning to make some quick note cards for someone off in the mail they go.
