Stress Relief Tea

I am so happy it's Monday!!!

Last week was the busiest week ever in my life.  Even though it was all fun and games, there was so much planning and work, and "getting it done" involved.  From birthday celebrations, CDA planning meeting, golf, hosting our annual Ladies Golf Niners Dinner, participating in our church's annual fashion show (rehearsing, fittings, modeling & performing in a group song), Greet & Meet our new neighbors happy hour hosted by our next door neighbor Stephanie, and getting ready for today's CDA General Meeting.
Did I mention unexpected company?  Yup...from late Tuesday night until yesterday morning!!!  Which meant quickly do a thorough light house cleaning and getting the guest bedroom and bathroom ready for our company.

All and more crammed into one week.  I wonder if that's why my right eye is twitching?!
So this week, I will try to rest, regroup and detox 😵

Me ... Today

Things I get myself into!!!!

Today I will be part of our Women's Guild annual Fashion Show (Church).  I get to model and also perform.
I will be modeling two outfits, and for the very first time in my life, I will be part of a little performance up on stage!!!

Yikes...I'm a lot nervous and scared.
I hope I don't forget my cue.  Our song is "Calendar Girl" and I'm the month of August:
When you're on the beach / you steal the show {summer}

I will be lip syncing since I can't carry a tune.  I just hope I will work it and make it look fabulous like the girl in this picture!!!  Other than this girl's hat and the Chihuahua, I have nothing in common with her. 😒

Wish me luck!

Much Love...

 Snail Mail Love
I participated in a Valentine's Day card swap in my Afternoon Tea Across America Group (ATAA - Facebook).
It was so much fun opening my beautiful Valentine cards just about everyday.  Each included a tea type recipe and a tea bag!  I can't wait to try them.

The following cards are some that were personally handmade:

January's Stamping Class

These are last month's cards we made a Vivian's.
This is my favorite card.  We learned a new technique called "reflection".  It was easy to do...phew!
I ended up buying this stamp set called Beautiful You.

I love this very clean & simple card.

So glad we made a guy's card.  I always have trouble making these type of cards.

...and last but not least, this cute "hey, chick!" card.  I need to improve my coloring technique!!!

All Stampin' UP! products.

For Ashley's New Baby Boy

I volunteered to make Ashley's baby card for our Ladies 9-Hole League to present to her.
Ashley, our very efficient and wonderful country club sport's bar manager, is expecting her second baby.  A baby boy soon to make his appearance in another month.
We added a very nice collection gift for her to get something she really wants or needs for her Baby Boy.
Can't wait to meet him! 🍼

Tea & Cookies

Happy Friday!
I want to share a really delicious and easy cookie recipe to make for anytime of the year; but I usually only make them around Christmas.
I meant to post this sometime in December, so now I'm trying to catch up...😀

For Christmas I hosted a cookie exchange at my house, and I made these delicious Almond Crescents to share.

I've been making this recipe for many many years!  I think I was like 21-22 years old and when I found this recipe in a magazine promoting California Almonds.

This is my recipe book since then.  Only very special and really good recipes make it into this book.

When I first started making these cookies, I used to grind my own almonds, and sometimes even had to shelled was a pain.
Luckily for me I had a very good contact in California, my cousin, who would sent me several pounds of fresh almonds.
Now with the convenience of TJ's Just Almond Meal, baking these cookies is a cinch!

Oh...and they go great with this tea!

Better to be
 than to arrive
~LOL 😃

Oranges, Lemons, Grapefruit...OH My!

Oranges, lemons and grapefruit abound this time of year here in Arizona.

If you're lucky to live here, you always know someone who is willing to share their citrus bounty.

My neighbor Stephanie's orange tree is heavy with juicy oranges for the picking,

and our other neighbors across the street, George and Barb, lemon and grapefruit trees are full as well.

Now comes the work of washing fruit, juicing and freezing the extra.

I see daily morning fresh squeezed orange juice.  Lemon bars, scones, bread, lemonade, and limoncello &Vodka Greyhounds for happy hour; plus adding zest to our meals.

I cannot believe that January is over ... phew ... what a busy, fun, chaotic, and full of surprises month it was!
Overall a great way to start the New Year!
I'm here after all.
