Vintage Petite Jar Spring Swap

I had so fun much creating this altered jar for a spring swap hosted by Michele from Something Special!  We were to decorate an 8 ounce jar and fill it with little vintage things like spools, doilies, lace buttons, sewing notions, ephemera scrapbook embellies, and Easter stuff...and of course, make it special
I love how the top of the jar turned out to be!    The cute leaf ribbon is from my local neighborhood craft store Crop Girls

I made the stick pin with glass beads from some of my leftover jewelry projects.

I found the crotchet doily at our local thrift store.  I had saved it for a special day.

The butterfly pin was a gift from a swap I had participated, and added more glitter.
Thank you AJ!

I filled the jar with lots of goodies and added a little bit of moss at the bottom of the jar to give it a little touch of spring.

Marie, Spun by Me, I hope you like it!

Altered Stick PIn Swap

I have discovered a new use for altered stick pins:  I use them in altered art projects and of course...on cards!
Since I need more stick pins and have fun making them, I signed up in Tee's from The Altered Paper's Stick Pin Swap.  We were to make 5 stick pins or hat pins and a holder.

I wanted to make a stick pin holder out of fabric, but my sewing machine needs fixing.  Arghh!!!  So off to Plan B.
My swap partner is Jean from Lilac Lane Livery.  I hope she likes it!

I think I'm making one for myself!!!

Celebrate Spring Swap

Ever since I have started creating ATC's, a new world has opened up for me!
I came across Kimberley's ArtJoyStuff's Celebrate Spring Swap.  I used a rose background postcard which reminds me of our blooming roses at this time of the year here in AZ.  I paired the rose postcard with a picture of a  flapper.  I am always drawn to flapper style pictures/era.  I hope my ATC's evoke springtime.

We were to make 6 and in return each one of us (swappers) will get five plus one of our own.
My next project is to come up with a way I can incorporate my ATCs into my card making/stamping.
Thank you for stopping by~

Table Top Tuesday

It has been awhile since I played along Marty's Table Top Tuesday over a Stroll Thru Life. I finally had a few days free from slavery (job!) and added some Easter/spring touches throughout our home.

I added my Charming Tails spring figurine  to my homemade cloche.  The Easter print is a free printable from eighteen25.  I love their artwork and it always adds a little whimsy to our home!

Please stop by Marty's to visit her and other bloggers' beautiful table tops!

Monthly Themed ATC Swap

I joined a new ATC swap called Monthly Themed ATC over at Flickr.  In this swap group, a participating swapper gets assigned a month and is responsible for that month's theme.  This month's theme is Spring!  Easy peasy!
This ATC is going to Esmeralda in California.  I hope she likes it!

I have a stash of beautiful scrapbooking kits and I'm trying to use them up so that I don't feel guilty when I go shopping...which is so hard when I stop by our neighborhood craft store Crop Girls!  They have the most beautiful array of scrapbook designer paper, and embellishments, and stamps, and ribbon, get the picture!

Welcome Baby Freya Jo

We have a brand new member in our family ~ Baby Freya Jo!  She's Hubby's first grand-niece, and we can't wait to meet her.  We saw pictures of her and she's tiny and so precious!
Congratulations Debbie & Eric!

I have always love this giant wheel from Stampin' Up! called Wash Day.  The sentiment is also from SU! and is called Congrats

I have always wanted to make a card using this stamp and making it 3D.  I know I went a little overboard with the pink, but I can't imagine any little girl not liking it.

March Blissfull ATC Swap

I received this beautiful ATC from Celia at Adventures of the Striped Stockings.  I love the measuring tape going all around the edge of the ATC.  It makes me want to sew something.
Thank you Celia!

I had so much fun with this swap hosted by Blissfull ATC Swap over at Flickr!  The theme for this month's ATC swap was dress forms.

This was my ATC for her.

March Tag A Month Swap

I received this gorgeous tag from Elysia from MrShiEvous Crafts.  We both participated in Tee's Altered Paper Tag A Month swap.  I have to say that St. Patrick was good to me and has brought me good luck so far!
Thank you Elysia!
...and I made this spring tag for her.
The tag's theme for this swap was Spring or St. Patty's.

Springtime has finally arrived in AZ and I love it!  Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, citrus season and beautiful flower blooms!

This is my gardenia and its flowering and releasing a wonderful soft and soothing aroma!   We keep our front door open so the scent travels into our home and we can enjoy it.

If only you could inhale some of its aroma...

I love walking up to our front door at this time of the year.  It's welcoming and so green.

The petunias are in full bloom and no bunnies can reach these!

I will enjoy every day of this wonderful time of the year!

Luck O' the Irish ATC Book Swap

I participated in a wonderful ATC Swap hosted by Kim, Tabby's Place, and JoanneVintage Dragonfly Flickr Swap Group

We were to create 12 St. Patty's ATCs and then mailed them to Kim.  Kim then put all of our ATCs and created a book, and not only that, she made the front and back covers for our books, plus embellished them!!!  She did an amazing job in putting our books together and turning them into a real treasure!
Thank you Kim!
Just beautiful!!!  All of the ladies are super talented and so very creative!

Please stop by Joanne's to view all ATCs submitted to create this adorable book!

Altered Stickpins

Saturday night while watching TV with Hubby, I worked on some stickpins for an upcoming swap.  So...I went a little crazy and made several using some bits and pieces of glass beads leftover from jewelry making.  I use longer needles (floral pins-3") because it gives me the flexibility to add more beads!
Now..don't asked me what TV show I watched...might have been some sport game!

I think this is my favorite!

Blissfull ATC Swap

Look for the woman in the dress.
If there is no woman,
there is no dress.
~Coco Chanel

I loved making this ATC!!!  It's the wannabe seamstress in me!  One of my favorite TV shows is Project Runway, and this ATC gave me the opportunity to do some designing.

This ATC is for Blissfull ATC Swap for the month of March.  The theme is "make it work...dress forms".  This gorgeous ATC is for my partner Celia at Adventures of the Striped Stockings.

Lace ATC Swap

I have to say that I'm really enjoying myself creating ATC's!
The theme for this ATC is lace.   I used some simple creamy lace to go around the vintage bride picture.  I added one of my favorite jewelry accessory...pearls.  I sewed a flower using the some of the lace.  I made a simple stick pin using a blue glass bead for "something blue".
On the picture I did a technique called "cracked glass".  I have never done this technique before, and found out that it wasn't as difficult as it sounded.
I hope my partner likes it as much as I do.
I made this ATC for the month of March hosted by Tee at The Altered Paper.

This is the ATC I received from my partner AJ
