Last night & this morning we had the best and coolest weather for the last time here in the Valley! My doors and windows are open and letting the cool breeze air out our home. I'm enjoying every minute of it!
I guess once you get to a certain age you know more people you care for, and there's always some health issue going on.
I made this card for Dolly. She's such a sunny cheerful and positive person, and when she smiles at you, you know she loves you! But in the last year she has had a year of bad health. The last incident for her was being rear ended on her way to church on Easter Sunday.
I made this card especially for her.
Isn't nature wonderful!
I had a Mamma Quail nest in my big geranium pot out in our patio for the last 5-6 weeks. She was so good about taking care of her eggs, and letting me water the pot. I tried not to disturb her at all, and she would stay very still while I water the plant.
I waited patiently to see the little guys, but I didn't get the chance. As soon as her brood was hatched, the new family was gone. Silly but it saddened me that I didn't get to meet the babies.
I am working on some Christmas ornaments to sell, and ...
donate to our Church's gift shop.
I plan on having an Open House Christmas Craft Sale this coming year right after Thanksgiving. So lately I've been working like a Santa's Elf in my craft room!
Do not be afraid to fail,
be afraid not to TRY.

Over the weekend I learned to make my own candy dots!
It was a very easy process and super cheap!
A year ago I watched a YouTube tutorial on making your candy dots or enamel dots; but when I saw a fellow crafter make them, I decided to give it a try.
I am glad I did! It was super easy and the results were fantastic.
I bought one bag of Pony Beads at the Dollar Tree store, came home and followed the instructions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cover cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place beads as shown in picture above. Place cookie sheet in oven carefully to avoid beads all over the kitchen floor! Bake for 15-20 minutes; depending on your oven. If beads are not done to your satisfaction, leave a little longer in the oven but do not forget!!! Beads will not burn, but get flatter and rounder. When done, remove from oven and let cool completely. Voila!
Here's a sample of the real candy dots I bought and used in a set of cards. I've had these beads for over a year, and was using them very sparingly and wisely.
My next project is to learn to make Perler Beads into candy dots!
The best way to start a
is with a cup of

Thank you Luann for being a great customer. I really appreciate that you think my cards are "worthy".
Girlz Day Out
Several weeks ago 3 of my friends and I went bowling, and we had a blast!
As you can see from the scores posted, I really stink at it...LOL!
Joanne our pro-bowling star, ...
and Moi, loving my bowling shoes!
Showing off my very first crop of Key Limes.
Juicy and delicious...must make a Key Lime Pie soon!!!
Today remember that a good attitude and a smile can take you a long way.

Today is my "ME Day"!
I stay in pj's and will binge watch Netflix...woo-hoo!!!
Of course my hands will not be idle. I'll be working on some Christmas crafts and other stuff as I sit back and relax.
One of my fellow CDA Lady asked me to help her with a project she was working for her church. Her church held a workshop and Sylvia was in charge of making 7 centerpieces for the tables
She had all of the supplies ready for us to start working on the centerpieces, and she was my assistant.
She had great confidence in my flower arrangement abilities, even after I told her that this particular craft was not something I had done before. It was a great opportunity to spend time together and get to know each other. I'm so blessed to have found a kindred spirit!
Sylvia assisted me, while I put them together...
I worked with the floral supplies Sylvia had already purchased.
The first two were easy, ...
but the last one was not. This is my least favorite.
Here we used some naturally dried roses Sylvia had saved.
Getting a little better about using greenery and filling in the spaces.
It was a great experience working on making these flower arrangements. I learned some tips and tricks.
Sylvia was very happy with the outcome, and has asked me to help her make more for an event she's hosting at church in October...but this time we're going together shopping for the supplies, but will have a theme in mind!

My word for this week is
I have been scattered brain lately...not good when I have so many things to accomplish in the next 2 weeks!
My daily focus is to make sure I blog...so here it is...
This is a card I made for one of my girlfriend's granddaughter's birthday who turned 10 years old.
I have gotten into the habit of making 2 cards of the same design when I have a request for card making.
What have I been up to?...
Trying to find the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe for soft & moist cookies. I used the Crisco butter shortening recipe, and I have to say it was good. I made the mistake of adding an extra egg, so my cookies flattened out when I took them out of them oven. They were good though. I must make same recipe again, but using 1 egg only!
My Rosemary bush had to be cut back drastically! I had let it get out of hand...shame on me!
So instead of throwing away the trimmings, I brought them indoors and placed them on this metal container. It was a great idea! The scent was heavenly, and what made it even better was that the ceiling fan is right above it, and made the fresh Rosemary aroma traveled throughout the house.
Another useful thing about Rosemary is throwing in a handful of cut twigs into your fireplace. It burns easily and releases its aroma (indoors or outdoors)!
So proud of myself!
I have been saving my earnings from selling my cards, and finally was able to get an Ottlite-Lamp for my craft table. It's not brand new, but gently used from a fellow crafter!
Girlz Day Out Adventure
The Girlz and I took a quick trip across to Algodones, Mexico, to get our cheap meds, and other stuff...wink wink!
This was our second trip there for Gin (white top) & I. Luann (left) and Kate's (right) first time. We had a blast!
It would have not been a complete trip if we didn't have real Mexican food & cocktails!!!
Here I am trying out a Chabela with Tecate Beer.
Gin trying out a Strawberry Margarita and Kate (a beer conoisseur) enjoying a cold Dos Equis Beer.
It was a great day in Mexico, especially in the company of great women!!!

Yesterday was our last CDA meeting of the year. We celebrated it by getting together for a luncheon at a local diner.
Our CDA Regent asked me if I could make 4 invitations for four of our local participating parish priests to invite them to our luncheon. When I heard the invitations were for "priests" I panicked...OMG...my first thought was, "I better do a good job!"
After much debating as to what to create, I decided to make a criss-cross invitation.
I'm glad to say, the "Priests" did show up...phew!
For our April CDA general meeting I made each Lady present received this cute little favor, with the message to remind ourselves:
Be someone's SUNSHINE when their skies are gray!
I have been doing some late spring cleaning around the house, and this is my latest accomplishment after many years of planning for it. What can I say...I'm a procrastinator!
This is such an improvement!
We had an old bright orange wooden crate for our shoes right outside our kitchen door going into the garage. It was a mess. I always had to dig out my shoes where were lost among Hubbies' HUGE shoes!
Group of friends and I got together and attended our Rec Center's last concert of the year.
It was a gorgeous spring day and the weather was absolutely perfect!
It was tribute to the Rolling Stones. The band was great, and Mick Jagger's impersonator was fabulous! Needless to say, I joined the crowd and danced the night away.
Lately my busy days end up like this.
Daphne all cozy and snuggly on my lap watching a Netflix movie!
Remember to take ONE day at time, girl. You can only do so much. Be KIND to yourself.

Summer has truly arrived here in Arizona, and it is HOT! It's our turn now to gripe about the weather, since we have really super nice winter weather.
I have been very busy for the last couple of weeks and trying to catch up with everything, except for blogging.
My friend Luann asked me if I could make her a graduation card for her friend who recently earned her PhD back in Michigan.
I felt that her friend should receive a really nice card after all of her hard work. I'm very pleased with the result.
~interior of card~
I made an extra card just in case someone else needed one at the last minute.
I want to share the following pictures from our Kentucky Derby Day:
We dressed for the occasion...hat & fascinators!
From left to right: Kate, Gin and moi! Kate had the fun idea of going to the races for the experience. We enjoyed it very much, and we'll definitely going back next year and entering the Hat Contest! We also checked out the fun tents where all the fun was had, and planning on being part of it next time.
This Lady did a great job with her hat and she was so adorable and full of spirit!
This beautiful lady was the 1st. place winner for her hat, and her outfit was perfect for the event. I wish we had a good picture of her winning hat.
I hope your day is a great one!
