I made this card for today's SCS challenge SC200. I used one of my very first SU sets, All Natural, that I purchased when I started stamping several years ago...
I love the colors and especially the use of SU Brushed Copper CS. I had never heat embossed on this type of paper, and the only difference is, that when you stamp with VersaMark, you don't see the image on the CS... I used foam dots for the acorns to give it some dimension, and finally got to use the CB Script folder. The DP is from my scrapbooking stash. I tried to add a sentiment or phrase, but I thought it would be too much, so I left it as is.

I used Jen del Muro's sketch "Hooray for Saturday" and I love the results! I tried to stay away from Halloween and fall themes this time, and do something different. I love the color turquoise! I am trying very hard not to run to the store and buy more stamping accessories, but to use what I already have. I been finding things that I didn't even know I had; so in a way I feel like I been shopping! LOL! Thank you Jen.

I was not too happy with my Wish card where I used sketch #25 from Friday Sketchers by Claudia Rosa. It was not the sketch, but my choice of colors :-( So I gave it another try! I usually don't use stickers in my cards, but I felt like something was missing, so I decided to give stickers a try. I am happier with this card and I really like the color combination.

This is my take on today's Featured Stamper Speedystamper, FS90 a SCS. I love the use of buttons and ribbon, and most of all the fall colors. I used this stamped image that my Big Sister sent me, and colored it using watercolor pencils and markers. I sponged Buckaroo Blue for the sky, and I rubbed/sponged Pumpkin Pie all over the CB Dots & Spots embossed paper. I am liking this "sponging" technique!!!
Congratulations Speedystamper!

I am so loving Fall that all I can think is cool weather and warm sunny days! For someone that just survived a long hot summer in the Phoenix Valley, Fall is a very welcome change of weather! Fall being one of my most favorite seasons, I am making the most of it, and can't stop making fallish cards. I did sketch #25 from Friday Sketchers by Claudia Rosa. For my color inspiration, I used Color Throwdown's weekly challenge CTD16: Ballet Blue, Green Galore and Creamy Carmel. I sponged Green Galore onto the DP to give it a tinge of green. I used the stamped image that my Big Sis sent me. I used SU watercolor pencils and a blender to color the image. I need to practice more on coloring. I had trouble combining Blue Ballet into my layout, it just seems like it shouldn't be there. Overall, I am okay with it.

This past week I was a little under the weather and was not able to do the daily challenges at SCS, so tonight I tried to do four challenges out of five in this card. I did the second card sketch SC199. I used one word and lots of pink for Ways To Use It challenge WT189. I used a SU leaf wheel for the Limited Supplies Challenge LSC191, ...and last but not least I attempted to do the Inspiration Challenge IC151 JC Penney's Pink Bedding.

SU CS, DP, SU Pink Passion ink, SU In Full Bloom stamp set, brad, ribbon, Diamond Glaze, SU Watercolor Pencils, white gel pen

I made this belated birthday card with the intention to give it to my friend, but I wasn't too happy with it, so I ended giving her another one. I feel so bad and ashamed that I am just celebrating her birthday. I hope she forgives me... I am not making excuses, but the last couple of months have been hard since I lost my Dad, and then right after my dear Aunt, Dad's younger sister, and in between, Life just happens...
I did this week's SCS sketch, SC199, and used lots of pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I had a terrible time putting this card together. I am just too critical of my own work...

All for You

This week's Featured Stamper at SCS is Emily, aka Ink-E, who happens to be only 18 years old, but so very gifted! I visited her gallery and I am so impressed by her artwork. I chose this card for today's challenge FS89. I love Americana, and her card A Star for You called my name, and I just had to CASE it! The charm reads: peace
Congratulations Emily!
SU CS, ribbon & ink, rub on phrase, silver star glitter

Audrey Hepburn

I just discovered this great blog called Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. Their feature challenge for this Saturday is Breakfast at Tiffany's. Who doesn't love Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly! The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Audrey Hepburn, is when she wears that big hat with a long black ribbon! I wish I could wear a hat like that...I tried to use a color that came close to Tiffany's signature color. It was a challenge, let me tell you! I used Beate's sketch challenge #62, WSC62.
SU CS, SU Pretties Kit, Black Ribbon

Stained Glass

I finally got a chance to use this stamp that was given to me by my friend Jackie Garner. I did SCS Wednesday Tutorial. This week's tutorial was from Beate to do a stained glass technique. It was actually very easy to do. The only thing I worried about was not burning the vellum while heat embossing! Luckily, I didn't! I used Stampendous PearLustre Carnelian embossing powder. My Hubbie really liked it! Thanks Tom!

I made this card using Color Throwdown #15, and sketch #24 from Friday Sketchers. For SCS Inspiration Challenge IC150, I was inspired by Joom's hummingbird pillow. I used my one and only bird stamp. I love hummingbirds! It is a delight to watch them every morning outside my window. They keep me busy refilling their feeder! Hungry little creatures! My DSS Big Sis send me the brads, which turned out to be perfect for this sketch

I am feeling a little more confident with card making and venturing out of my comfort zone. First, I am trying different size cards. I would only make the basic 51/2"x41/4" size card. Now I am making 5"x5" cards, thanks to my DSS Big Sis" Peanut! I am trying out new challenges outside SCS. This past week I've worked on doing several challenges not only from SCS, but I've tried new ones for the very first time. For this card I used Jen del Muro's sketch challenge SFYTT, Verve's October Project Parade-Day 1 VVPP07, embossing. For SCS I did challenge LSC190, using blue in my card. I sponged SU Bliss Blue for the sky.
Another challenge that I set for myself, was to use most of my DSS Secret Sister's package she mailed me with tons of goodies. The only items I used from my own stash are: DP, the Cherish sticker/charm, and the CS for the card. I used my Big Sister's CB embossed background, stamped image, ribbon, brads, Jolee's stickers, and Stickles.

Boss's Day

I made this card for our HR Coordinator Carmen, in honor of Boss's Day. Carmen is not too big on Girly Girl stuff, being the mother of 3 college young men, and also growing up with 3 brothers. She and her husband are all about their boys's college education & sports. So, I refrained myself from making it too "frou frou"! I used SU Sweet Dreams stamp set, and I glued some bead flowers. I finally got a chance to do last week's SCS challenge WT187, use a monogram, and plaid for today's SCS challenge WT188. I used sheer ribbon to give it a little extra something. I love ribbon!!! I sprinkled the chipboard "C" with Denami Design Sparklets Lime Sherbert.
I am very happy to work with Carmen. She is the best!

Think Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness

As you know the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, SCS challenge CC188 was to use Pink Pirouette or Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White in creating our card. I am completely out of Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink cardstock, but I did use Pretty in Pink ink! I also did today's sketch challenge SC198. It was a little difficult because I don't have any big circle punches, so I improvised. I used 2 different size spools of ribbon to trace the semi-circles. I had saved the black bow ribbon from a Victoria's Secret gift box I received a couple of years ago. It finally came in handy. I love Paris in the Spring stamp set by SU! I have listed a Vespa on my Christmas wishlist! I hope it comes in PINK!

LSC189 & SC197

Thank you Big Sis' Peanut
I received a very generous package from Peanut, my Divine Secret Sibling. I did the limited supply challenge and sketch challenge from SCS. Thanks to Peanut, I used the Jolee's corn embellishment, ribbon, and Clear Dollar leaf stamp. I colored the pumpkin stamped image she sent me with SU Watercolor Wonder crayons. I pressed a little too hard on the THANKS stamp...Oops...! I even have some bling!

Kazan's Sketch 11

I have combined two challenges in ONE! Kazan's from 2 Sketches 4 You and SCS Christmas Card Challenge for October... I feel so accomplished! Now I have to make 9 more cards, and I will be done...!

Anne Ryan, SCS Featured Stamper

This is my very first SCS Featured Stamper Challenge card. I chose Anne Ryan's card Take Time to case. I just love the simplicity, soft colors and elegance of her card. I hope mine comes close to hers.

Congratulations Anne!

Stamping with Punches

I visited Allison and she has a challenge to use our punches in creative ways. This challenge reminded me that I had made a card with punches for a SCS Card Swap. It was fast, easy and so much fun to do. I used the round tab punch for the petals and dry embossed each, my small oval punch for the leaf, the circle punch for the center and stamped it with the canvas background stamp, window punch for the stem, and corner punch. That is a total of 5 punches! I also used a CB embossing folder. As you can see, I got the inspiration from the ribbon, which is part of the leaf. Thanks Allison!

I made this card for the SCS Cards for a Cause challenge, CFC02 , which will be sent to the Chemo Angels . The caption under Sassy Suzie says, "We're such good friends because, surprisingly, you're not intimidated by my beauty!" Sassy...!

My DSS Big Sis "Peanut" sent me these 2 cards. Isn't she creative?! I just love how she adds so much detail, color, embellishments to her artwork. Her cards are so unique.

Fall is Here

Autumn: apple cider, homemade bread, fall festivals, falling leaves, cooler weather, pumpkins...just a few of my favorite things about FALL!
I made this card for a Fall swap on SCS. I used the Wednesday Card Sketch: SC193
I love to heat emboss a lot and couldn't help myself to use this technique again...LOL!
