Homemade Candy Dots

Over the weekend I learned to make my own candy dots!
It was a very easy process and super cheap!
A year ago I watched a YouTube tutorial on making your candy dots or enamel dots; but when I saw a fellow crafter make them, I decided to give it a try.
I am glad I did!  It was super easy and the results were fantastic.
I bought one bag of Pony Beads at the Dollar Tree store, came home and followed the instructions:
 Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cover cookie sheet with parchment paper.  Place beads as shown in picture above.  Place cookie sheet in oven carefully to avoid beads all over the kitchen floor!  Bake for 15-20 minutes; depending on your oven.  If beads are not done to your satisfaction, leave a little longer in the oven but do not forget!!!  Beads will not burn, but get flatter and rounder.  When done, remove from oven and let cool completely.  Voila!

Here's a sample of the real candy dots I bought and used in a set of cards.  I've had these beads for over a year, and was using them very sparingly and wisely.

My next project is to learn to make Perler Beads into candy dots!
