Velvet Pumpkins On A Silver Platter

This past summer I found this beautiful heavy round silver platter at an estate sale.  It didn't look this clean and shiny.  It was horribly tarnished and unrecognizable, but the price was perfect...cheap ($6 or $8 with an additional discount of 30% off).

A lot of elbow grease and toothpaste, transformed this silver platter to almost its old self!

It is currently gracing our formal dining table, showcasing a collection of velvet pumpkins.  The acorns are a recent acquisition from the same estate sale.  I believe they were 25 cents each.

Simple and so very festive.

This Thanksgiving we are going to be dining out with another couple at a local restaurant.  This particular restaurant has a huge aquarium in its dining room.  For Hubby and I, it will be a totally different Thanksgiving celebration...dining with the fish...LOL!!!
